Create Your Own Laminate Displays and Store Fixtures
You can personalize laminate with the image of your choice. Laminate is durable, highly resistant to wear and flexible in the way in can be used. Any image can be embedded into a permanent, long lasting fixture or display by using digital imaging processing. After a company has an image you have created, two general processes are used.
One process employs layered sheets of resin saturated paper that will be heated to form one solid laminate surface. A similar process consists of a laminate image adhered to a core substrate. In both processes, the image layer is covered with a transparent melamine resin paper. The laminate can be of variable thicknesses by adding more layers of resin or paper are below the image. Once heated, there are no layers that can peel apart ensuring a quality long lasting display.
Kinds of Designs
Companies can work with almost anything a designer can create for imaging. The following are some examples:
• original art
• photographs
• fabric
• logos
• illustrations
• text
• drawings
• or any combination of the above
Two Basic Types of Laminate
1.thin laminates which are adhered to substrates such as particle board or MDF
2.laminate with two decorative faces These are self-supporting of variable thicknesses.
Companies Offer
A standard of 4x10 sheet with a 300 dpi minimum for image quality
vertical and Horizontal grade laminates
60 day finish time after proto-type is approved
NO minimum order
Digital Processing File Types
Companies can work with both bitmaps and vector-based images. The most commonly requested file types are EPS and TIFF. However, for the best quality a vector file is recommended. When creating the size and shape for the laminate sheet that is to be inserted, changes in sizing from a vector file do not affect resolution and image clarity. The lines stay smoother and sharper. In addition, the original color vibrancy will be maintained.
Limitations
Keep in mind when choosing your background that it will not affect your vision for the display. A dark background or non-compatible background color can change the overall effect. Also, any non-smooth or layered surface may produce shadows that are not desirable.
